Katie Mcclendon – CEO
Ms. Katie M. McClendon, BA, CPLC, CDVC is a the Founder and CEO of Women Achieving Success Dba Families Achieving Success. Katie is a single mother of 3 wonderful children, 2 sons in high school and a daughter in middle school. Katie is the definition of a Survivor. She has managed to go from victim to victorious by the grace of almighty God. Overcoming being raised in a gang and drugs neighborhood, witnessing community violence, experiencing domestic violence, severe physical abuse, verbal and mental abuse, financial abuse, homelessness, living in a shelter, major depression, being a high school dropout and being a teenage mother. To becoming a successful business owner, proud mother, college graduate, Nonprofit Organization Founder and CEO, Certified Professional Life Coach, Certified Domestic Violence Counselor, Child Development Expert, Grant Writer, Advocate, Author on Amazon, Consultant, Educator and Mentor. Katie McClendon is now a proud graduate of Los Angeles City College and Thomas Edison State University. She has an Associate Degree is Child Development and a Bachelor Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in Psychology.
LaShai Campbell – CFO
Mrs. LaShai E. Campbell, MBA, MAcc is the co-founder and Executive Director of Restoring the Breach, Inc., CEO of LoSeEd Financial and Business Solutions, and an educator at Georgia Southern University and Ogeechee Technical College. She is a proud alumna and triple eagle of Georgia Southern University earning degrees in accounting and business. She currently serves on the board of the Bulloch County Commission on Human Services, the Statesboro Youth Commission Network, the Friends of the Library, and the Network of Black Alumni at Georgia Southern University. She is a graduate of the 5th cohort of the Lynda Brannen Williamson Foundation and 2021 recipient of the Statesboro 20 under 40 recognition. In each role she undertakes, her dedication of using her education and experiences to foster collaboration within communities to increase the quality of life for all. LaShai is the wife of Philip and the dog mom of Boogie.
Tina West
Tina T. West is a highly experienced, multi-talented woman whose sincerely modest demeanor greatly understates her numerous accomplishments. She is the First Lady of Sunergeo Christian Fellowship in Upland, California where her husband is the lead Pastor. She is also the President and Founder of Focus Ministries, a Fontana based Christian organization initially designed to minister primarily to the hurts and needs of women through the discipline of prayer and practical applications of biblical principles.
In 2004, Tina and her husband expanded Focus Ministries’ scope to also provide targeted outreach and discipleship programs for men, married and engaged couples, teens and youth. Currently included among Focus’ intended schedule of ministry activities are annual retreats, pre-marital classes, private counseling sessions, bible study, bereavement support and consultation, leadership training and conducting specialized workshops and seminars.
Tina is a graduate of Whittier College with 30 years of teaching experience in the Whittier; Chaffey and Ontario Christian High School districts. She is trained in such diverse subject areas as biology, developing interpersonal skills and homemaking. Career highlights include developing a pilot program for At-Risk students, launching a first year high school’s Learning Center and serving as a Consultant Teacher to first through third year teachers. Tina served as the College and Career/Personal Counselor; Cheer Advisor; Summer School Director; and AP coordinator at Ontario Christian High School. She also developed a Peer Counseling Program that focused on training students in how to assist students in need of social; academic and personal support. She is currently in the midst of a vocational transition as she prepares to pursue her Master’s degree in counseling.
Tina resides in Fontana, California with her husband Julius, their son Justin Case and daughter Amara Christina-Marie.
Jerome Vincent Carter
Jerome Vincent Carter is the CEO, Founder and President of Inspiration 52, Inc. Jerome has been an educator for over 35 years! He has also had the opportunity to travel the United States training teachers and students through workshops, assemblies, and seminars. He is a leading authority in the field of character education and teacher and student inspiration. He has authored and created, 7 books, 2 Audio CD’s and 5 DVD’s. He has worked as a consultant for Shmoop University since 2014. He is also a consultant for Los Angeles County Office of Education and numerous school districts including Los Angeles, Compton, and Long Beach Unified School Districts. Jerome has consulted with these districts in the area of character education since 2003.
Jerome Vincent Carter is well known in the field of education. He has taught for over three decades and has worked with students and teachers in every grade level from pre-K through the University level. He has taught regular education, gifted education, and correctional education! He also teaches part-time at Loyola Marymount University, and Cal State Fresno. He has also taught or consulted for the University of California Irvine, Alliant International University, University of San Diego, and Azusa Pacific University.
Jerome Vincent Carter is also the Senior Pastor of South Bay Abundant Life Church in Long Beach. Jerome has served as the Senior Pastor since July of 2012.
He and his beautiful wife Tracey have been married for 34 years and have 3 children. They currently live in Long Beach, California.
Maria McClendon – Secretary
Mrs. Maria McClendon known to many as Teacher Maria is an author of a wonderful Children’s book, the mother of one amazing daughter and grandmother to 3 children. She is also a caterer, a caregiver and a small business owner. She’s the owner of L.A. Cakes, Cobblers, Treats and More where she and her granddaughter cater delicious homemade food and treats for special events. Maria also co-owns McClendon Family Child Care. Growing up 5 of 8 children Maria learned to be hardworking, independent, resourceful and caring. She has a passion for helping others and always does all she can to be of service to those in need. She has a passion for the homeless and a heart to change the community. When she’s not working one of her many jobs, she’s taking care of her 84 year old elderly mother.
